The Springtime of Poets - Le Printemps des poètes
Le Printemps des poètes (The Spring of Poets) was launched in Paris from 21 to 28 March 1999 by Emmanuel Hoog and André Velter, with the aim of highlighting the extreme vitality of poetry in France. It quickly became a nationwide event, and the voice of the poets rose to the occasion, with a host of poetic initiatives across the country and abroad. Printemps des poètes has built up a huge, active community of poets, publishers, teachers, students, librarians, singers, actors, musicians and readers.
Since then, over 12,000 events have been organised in France and abroad, in schools and educational establishments, libraries, theatres, bookshops, hospitals, etc. Printemps des Poètes is a veritable ode to poetry to accompany the spring equinox. In 2016, the event was awarded the Goncourt poetry prize for all its work. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the National Book Centre and the Ministry of National Education and Youth, Linda Maria Baros has been the new Artistic Director of Printemps des Poètes since July 1, 2024.
« In a difficult world, often governed by self-interest, selfish profit and profitability,
we need poetry more than ever. we need poetry more than ever.
Because, as the Argentinian poet Roberto Juarroz puts it, poetry is "an extraordinary accelerator of consciousness","an extraordinary accelerator of consciousness", because it is a source of wonder and reflection, poetry must play an essential part in the education of young people. »

The Compagnie Mot pour Mot and The Springtime of Poets
Requested and supported by the association Le Printemps des Poètes de Paris to honour and establish poetry in the city of Sète, Mot pour Mot has been present every March since 1999. Since then, 27 editions have been held, and every year the company works to make words dance for the arrival of spring, alongside readers, actors, poets, musicians and dancers.
With the help of poets Alexis Guiengani, Solo Soro, Julien Blaine, Les Souffleurs commandos poétiques, Kiko Motos, Magyd Cherfi, Gabi Jimenez, Hagit Grossman and Ronny Someck, the Compagnie Mot pour Mot will be celebrating poetry in a multi-discursive and interactive way every year, with a clear desire to make culture accessible to as many people as possible.
To celebrate the 28th anniversary of Printemps des Poètes, the Mot pour Mot theater company invites you to share in a variety of shows, conferences, and cultural events from March 10 to 14, 2026, in the city of Sète.
