I'm taking you to the theatre!
Bringing artists into school means offering children the chance to paint their own future with them, to discover the fabulous power of creation, of all that it reveals in them that is powerful and strong, and keeps them away from failure and stigmatisation. Involving the child's parents and family in this notion is crucial.
Learning to read, count, write and create means "living together".
And it all starts at school !
Sophie Loubière
Since 2001, the J't'emmène au théâtre! cultural initiative has been reaching out to young people to help them discover themselves and develop their artistic talents. Now more than ever, this initiative responds to the urgent need to strengthen social ties and support education.
J't'emmène au théâtre! is a participatory initiative to create shows with an educational focus, combining theatre with other art forms to bring together different cultural identities. This deliberate cross-fertilisation of the multi-disciplinary arts through theatre, film, poetry, music and dance within the same school is a guarantee of diversity in which children can identify and participate.
For the past 22 years, the project has been renewed each year at the request of the various schools and civil society organisations located in the priority areas of Sète, directly involving schoolchildren and their families. These new audiences don't often get the chance to go to the theatre, and they're curious to explore venues with unusual formats and offerings. J't'emmène au théâtre! brings together a wide range of innovative events, offering a social and popular approach to secularism and living together.
J't'emmène au théâtre! promotes social integration through culture, and aims to introduce children and teenagers to the theatre through a lively, fun approach to learning the French language, heritage texts and the performing arts. It also helps them develop their critical faculties.
Since 2019, I'm taking you to the theater ! has been part of the CGEAC (Convention of Generalisation of Arts in Education) signed by the City of Sète and Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate for Social Cohesion.

Histori'BIP: In the history of literature, the Pléiade is the name given to a group of seven poets. It was created in the 16th century (1549). Before it was called the Pléiade, this group of geniuses of the French language was called La Brigade.
For 25 years, the BIP have been widely acclaimed. The BIP are impromptu performances by professional artists who offer the public a chance to hear their poems on a range of themes requested by school teachers. From Victor Hugo to Jules Ferry, via Khalil Gibran, Paul Eluard, Claude Roy and Tahar Ben Jelloun, with poems chanted or whispered in the ear, the BIPs transmit texts to primary schools, middle school, high school, media libraries, associations for new arrivals and so on.
