THE COMPANY

Founded in 1987, Compagnie Mot pour Mot creates and presents a wide range of multidisciplinary shows. On stage, out of doors, anywhere, Mot pour Mot presents a variety of creations and events, and develops collaborative and artistic exchange projects. Mot pour Mot also defends accessibility and cultural diversity.  The company dedicates much of its work to programs promoting the arts in education and has been developing a hub in Marseille since 2018. After 37 years of existence, Mot pour Mot today is a company with international influence.

Compagnie Mot pour Mot is a non-profit association governed by the 1901 law, subsidized by the City of Sète, the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs), the Department of Hérault (34), the CD13 (13) , the Occitanie Region, the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône, the French Institute, etc.

Compagnie Mot pour Mot is a public-interest organisation that has been granted tax status (i.e. the right to receive donations and issue tax receipts entitling it to tax relief, as well as being eligible for sponsorship).

• 4 Social Programs : “Culture to get by” school projects for social reintegration through culture in Languedoc-Roussillon, approved by the DDTEFP (Departmental Directorate of Labor, Employment and Vocational Training) and the ANPE (National Employment Agency).

• 5 Awards : Prize of the OFF Avignon Festival for the show “Mr Plume Plis au pantalon” Avignon 1989, 1st Prize of the Incontrazione Festival for the show “Africanito” Palermo 1992, Selection France Culture for the show “Signé Parpot” 1996, Winner of Business Creation graduated by the French Senate in 2003, Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters awarded by the Ministry of Culture in 2022 to Imed Alibi, brigadier of poetic intervention within the Mot pour Mot Company for more than 20 years.
