POETREE

The alarming news of climate change is creating a real ecological challenge, and it's urgent that we raise the question of man's new relationship with his environment, opening new windows, proposing a different, more subtle way of looking at the world, thinking together today and planting the seeds for tomorrow. Drawing on Francis Hallé's Universal Declaration of the Rights of Trees, as well as texts by Marc Alyn, Ronny Someck and Francis Combe, and including Hagit Grossman, Gretel Ehrlich, George Sand, Andrée Chedid, Émily Dickinson, Bruno Latour and Frédérique Aït-Touati, the tree-dancers, like trees of words, invite the audience to touch the bark, feel the verticality of the trunks in their bodies, and multiply like leaves. Through the tree and its representation, art awakens our consciousness and encourages us to change the way we look at things. The performance will take place in two parts:

  • the POETREE show

  • A discussion on ecology.
